This year we watched with joy as our young church’s “first” nursery members graduated and went on to attend Sunday school classes and start their first days of kindergarten. We welcomed new arrivals to our church family and enjoyed caring for both members’ and the many visitors’ children throughout the year. Little ones were cuddled and cherished in Infants’ nursery. Next door, the toddlers learned to grow together as they became mobile and super-curious boys and girls. God also gave us the opportunity to grow and experience wonderful victory through our special needs ministry.
Our little ones are our bright hope for tomorrow...what a pleasure to watch them grow physically and spiritually. As Grace grows, our nursery grows; new arrivals, new members, new ladies join in the ministry and learn to serve Him. We share our hearts and pray for one another as we serve together in this tender ministry. We continue in thanks and praise for all that Christ is doing in the lives of the families at Grace. It a blessing to get a vision of the difference we can make in the lives of people we seek to reach for Christ.
At Grace each week in the back hall you can see our small children with crafts in hand telling moms and dads about Jesus and about their lessons from that weeks class time. Our Sunday School teachers do a great job teaching the Bible to their classes. Using colorful and captivating materials to bring the Bible to life right in front of our children. Someone once said “The Bible is not real in our lives until it becomes personal.” We believe that is exactly what our Children’s ministries are designed to do (make it personal) and the Lord has blessed our efforts and our emphasis in the lives of our children.
Our Junior Church ministry is a time to preach the Word of God to our young people as well as a training environment to help them serve in our church. During our time, they participate in every aspect of a well scheduled program. They assist their teachers by setting up the class, recording attendance and greeting visitors. We are thrilled that our children learn to serve the Lord and others in many practical ways during the Junior Church hour.
During this last year, we have studied the lives of Esther, Jacob, Esau as well as the life of Jesus Christ. We have taken these examples from the Bible to teach practical lessons that the children can apply in their own hearts.
Children love Grace Bible Clubs. Our church is blessed with several clubs for our children to be active in—from the Pee Wee and Patriot clubs on Wednesday nights to Choir and Dramas. Our children love it all. During club times, there is practical preaching and teaching for our kids. We have studied attributes of God and are presently studying character traits that should be in each of our lives. Our Children know that Grace has a place for them each week and every Sunday. Each year the Children's Christmas program always brings new excitement to the Children as they get to be involved and to be used serving the Lord.
